A quintal of fish . . . is worth 12 s.6 d. in hard cash, or 14 s 6 d. store pay, the latter being the usual mode of payment. Store pay in Canada signifies what the storekeeper values his goods at in settling with the working classes, and of course varies with the demand and supply.
